We have an awesome calendar of events to finish out 2007.  To receive a calendar of Events, please call the office, 706-678-7116 and we'll be glad to send you one.

Here are the details:  4 Condos next to the slopes.  $127 for lodging, food and transportation.  Lift tickets, ski or snow board rental equipment, tubing, ice skating, all extra but reasonably priced considering. We need to know ASAP if you're coming, i.e. deadline is 11/29.  Please call the office to reserve your space, 706-678-7116, and bring your deposit either $100 for a family or $50 for individuals by that date also.  It should be awesome!

Sunday School — Sundays @ 10:00. This year we have a Confirmation Class for 6th and 7th graders.  This is a special class that we offer to train students to step out in faith and take responsibility for their life in Jesus Christ. We meet in Bell Cottage in the gold room.  The Class for Middle School Students (8th grade) meets on the second floor of the Educational  Building;  It is called Beyond Confirmation and is taught by Janie Cravens one of the most awesome teachers you'll ever meet!  They are going on a retreat to Callaway Gardens over the Christmas Holidays. The Senior High class (8th-12th grades) also meets on the second floor of the education building in the Senior High Classroom.  This class likes to discuss current events and is taught by Ed, III and Susan Pope.

Worship — Sundays @ 11:15. Our youth sit together on the right front pews or you are welcome to sit with your family.

Youth Drama Team--First United Methodist Church has started a fun and exciting drama team.  Please call the office, 706-678-7116, and leave a message for Shay Harris for more information. Youth 6th - 12th grades are invited to join.  No auditions are necessary, all are invited.

UMYF — Sundays from 6:00-8:00 in Bell Cottage all during the year.  Supper is provided each week by a parent or friend volunteer.  Be sure to look at a calendar to make sure we are here;  sometimes we do something special and meet another place.

WYF — (Wednesday Youth Fellowship) September - April, the youth eat together during Wednesday Night Supper beginning at 6:15 in the fellowship hall followed by a time for prayer, catching up with what is going on with friends and program from 7:00 - 7:30. Many Wednesday nights before everyone has eaten you will find our youth delivering meals to some of our homebound members.

Fifth Quarter- Friday nights during the Fall, after home football games, we enjoy food and fellowship in Bell Cottage.  Bring your friends and enjoy this good time for everyone.

Special outings like bowling, roller-skating, skiing, retreats and mission trips are planned by parents and youth throughout the year.  In the fall we enjoy bonfires and hayrides.

What kind of Outreach do we do;  that is, how does our Christianity affect the way we reach out to others?

In May 2007 we sponsored a Youth Relay for Life Team, some of our youth went on our church's mission trip to Pearlington, MS (June 25-29), others went to River of Life in Lincolnton (July 18-22) and recently 44 youth from churches around Wilkes County gathered in the kitchen of our new fellowship hall, worked with 10 adults and delivered 17l Thanksgiving meals to seniors, homebound and others in our community.  Way to go Youth!!

Come be part of this dynamic group of Youth making a difference in our community!

Check with Mark, above, to get more details.
