Weekday Program for 3 and 4 Year Olds
Our Pre-Kindergarten Program offers an
age-appropriate curriculum in a loving, caring Christian environment. Opportunities are provided for children to learn through
“hands-on” activities in which they develop at their own pace.
Our program touches on all aspects of a child’s development: cognitive,
social, emotional, physical, and spiritual.
We partner with parents
to help their children learn and grow.
Our goal is to provide opportunities to develop each child’s potential. It is our hope that every child will experience the fun and
joy of learning here at FUMC Pre-Kindergarten.
This past year we reached out for
the first time to students for whom English is a second language. We
invite those in our community for whom English is their second language to
consider sending your children here.
If you have recently moved to Washington, please call
the church, 706-678-7116, to enroll your child.
We offer one class for 3 and 4 year
olds with spaces for 24 children.
You may choose either a 3-Day or a 5-Day option in that class.
3-Day students attend Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and 5-Day
students attend Monday through Friday.
School hours are 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon.
We follow the local school calendar regarding holidays.
To be eligible, children must be 3 by September 1, 2007, and potty
trained before school begins. We
must have a current Immunization Form before your child can begin school.
Goals of FUMC Pre – Kindergarten
q To instill
in each child a positive self-concept.
q To provide
a Christian atmosphere which encourages respect for others and fosters a love of
learning.
q To help
each child develop self-discipline and learn to be responsible for his/her own
actions.
q To help
each child develop the ability to make choices and begin the process of problem
– solving.
q To provide
opportunities to develop readiness skills and stimulate individual creativity.
q To provide
opportunities for children to interact with children their own age in a safe and
loving environment.

to reserve your child's space, please contact us as soon as the dates
for registration are posted.
Registration Fee and Tuition
A
non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration.
Those fees are:
3-Day
Registration Fee $50.00
5-Day
Registration Fee $50.00
Tuition
is due the first of each month, except for August, when it is due at the Parent
Orientation Meeting. Tuition is as
follows:

Meet our Leadership Team
We are fortunate to have a wonderful
experienced, leadership team here at FUMC Pre-Kindergarten.
Each member works diligently to ensure that we provide a
quality program. Our lead teacher
for the 2007-2008 school year is Kathleen Reeves. Kathleen has
experience teaching pre-kindergarten students and worked in our new
Mothers" Morning Out Program during the 2006-2007 school year.
She is bi-lingual, that is, fluent in both Spanish and English.
Last year Kathleen taught an introduction to Spanish class in the
morning to members of our pre-K before regular classes began. Cynthia Lewis,
our talented and experienced, Assistant Teacher, helps Kathleen
coordinate lessons and teaches lessons in Kathleen's absence. Betsy Strother is the Director. She handles all
administrative matters and is the best person to whom to ask
questions.
